My Journey to Ayurveda

My journey began in 2005, in the magical place of Tashirat, Mexico—a spiritual school and orphanage that taught nutrition, yoga, and meditation. I arrived to serve, but I left with so much more. The magic and resilience of the children, who transformed through the power of love and the dedication of staff who became their family, left an indelible mark on my heart. It was also here that I learned the true essence of health and wellness, and the immense power we hold within ourselves.

I must acknowledge the founder of Tashirat, Artimia Arian, whose work, including Cosmic Reawakening, profoundly shaped my understanding. Her teachings, drawn from the wisdom of Eastern philosophy, yoga, and cosmic knowledge received in meditation, sparked within me a deep desire to seek truth—the truth of who we are, why we are here, and how we can navigate this journey. While understanding concepts intellectually is one thing, embodying them is something entirely different.

After Tashirat, my path was far from easy, marked by trauma and loss. Yet, I was left with a glimmer of hope—a jewel that never extinguished. I knew my purpose was to be of service, so I embarked on a career in counseling, all while continuing my spiritual exploration and passion for health.

Ayurveda kept appearing in my life, and after a personal loss, a book came to me that felt like a sign. Ayurveda, with its perfect fusion of spirituality, holistic health, and medical wisdom, became the guiding light I had long been seeking. In 2019, I began my training under Dr. Deepika Rodrigo at the Ayurveda Institute UK. Little did I know that 2020 would bring the challenges it did.  Ayurveda became my lighthouse during these turbulent times.

The light of the divine emanates from the wisdom of ayurveda and finding it is like coming in from the dark and cold, into the warmth of home – coming home to who we truly are.
