About Me

“Every individual is a unique expression of the universal consciousness, called Purusha.”    Dr Vasant Lad

Like so many, my journey through life has been littered with challenges that I’ve had to overcome.  I understand the dark places that can exist within our own minds, and sadly, I know too well the tragic outcomes if people can’t find light in that darkness.

In helping myself overcome anxiety and depression, self-loathing and limiting beliefs.  I now have so much love in my heart and I want to be the light to help others out of the darkness.

This initially led me to a career in counselling, and then through my own spiritual and wellness journey, to Ayurveda.

As well as the mental and emotional struggles I have had to overcome.  I have also been plagued with IBS, migraines and PCOS since my early teenage years.  All of which could put me out of action for days, or at the very least, robbed me of energy and vitality.

By the time I found Ayurveda, I had already overcome anxiety and depression, but I was still suffering with these physical disorders.  Ayurveda changed everything!

Ayurveda is literally translated as the science of life, or as Dr Vasant Lad has beautifully called it, ‘the science of self-healing’.

As ayurveda focuses on healing the gut, so many of our issues can be healed from this alone.  Not surprising that current scientific research has caught up with this timeless knowledge in understanding that our gut health is vital for our overal health, that much of our immune system is within our gut.

Ayurveda is so much more besides, that it is difficult to encapsulate what is both a fascinating science and beautiful art.

I have been studying at the Ayurveda Institute UK, under the wonderful Dr Deepika Rodrigo, which has been such a blessing.  The more I learn the beautiful wisdom of ayurveda, the greater my love becomes.  As a result, my own consciousness and heart-centredness is enhanced.

I have always had a profound love of, and deep connection to nature.  I feel that nature is my therapy.  Since learning Ayurveda I can see why this is so.  We are not separate from nature, instead, we are nature, and nature is us.

Dis-ease comes from a disconnection to self and the part of us that knows how to heal.  It is the state of imbalance that is the precursor to the disease state.  We restore health, by restoring balance and realigning with the light and intelligence within.

In the process of learning Ayurveda, it is easy to understand why it is the oldest known form of medicine still practiced in the world today.  It is an ancient and timeless wisdom for healing our modern diseases and disorders.  The difference from allopathic medicine, is that it treats the root cause of disease, which leads to greater health outcomes.

I have such immense gratitude to have found Ayurveda, because in doing so, I have found my Dharma and I feel blessed to play my small part in helping to spread this light in the world.

Find your balance, energy & happiness the natural way.

About Me

I believe that we each have within us a powerful self-healing  ability that is unlocked and awakened when the right conditions exist in our bodies and in our lives.

It is my passion to use the knowledge, wisdom and tools that have helped me to unlock this potential, and heal from physical, mental and emotional ailments, to help others who resonate do the same.

Mission and Vision

It is my mission to use the journey of self-healing that I’ve been on, and the wisdom and therapeutic tools and skills I’ve learned, to help anyone who feels aligned with me and what I offer.

We are all unique and there is no one size fits all for anything.  Our health and healing journey are the same.  We find and carve out our own truth on our path and this is what leads us home to our greatest Selves, where health and happiness are our natural state.

My vision is to help as many people as possible to unlock the healing potential within them.  It is said that we, therapists and practitioners, are not the healers.  We are the facilitators; those who help to create the environment and hold space for healing to begin.

It is the individual who takes the brave step of deciding to reclaim their health and happiness, and it is the individual who makes the daily changes and choices that lead to the big shifts in mind, body and consciousness.

F.A.Q

Ayurveda is making a resurgence as an excellent way to regain health and happiness.  As it is still relatively unknown to some, I have included some frequently asked questions.

u

Where does Ayurveda come from?

Ayurveda originated in India, over 5000 years old.  It was once practiced around the world, before declining in poularity with the rise of allopathic medicine.  However, we are coming full circle and returning to the ancient wisdom of ayurveda to heal our modern illnesses and disorders.

u

What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is an ancient and holistic system of medicine.  Similar in some ways to Traditional Chinese Medicine in that it is based on elemental healing and and uses diet and lifestyle advice, and herbs in its treatment approach.

The literal translation is science of life, or as Dr Vasant Lad refers to it, the science of self-healing.

u

What happens at the initial consultation?

In the initial consultation, we will have about 60 – 90 minutes to discuss your current health issues and I will ask some questions to determine your current state of health and previous factors that may be contributing to your current imbalance.  From this, I will have a clearer picture that will allow me to determine the dosha imbalance and root of disorder.  I will go off and create an individualised treatment plan before we meet again.

u

What happens at the follow-up consultation?

We will meet again to go over the treatment plan and discuss the dosha imbalance and discuss the diet and lifestyle changes required to bring you back into balance.  Also any herbs as part of the treatment, and how to take these.

This is also an opportunity for you to have any questions answered that have arisen since we last met, or anything regarding the plan.

u

What happens next?

We will meet again in three weeks to discuss your progress and consider any changes required.  However, I am available to answer any questions that arise between sessions.  There is also an option to arrange for weekly counselling for bigger emotional issues that need to be processed.
